The sound of Norma A-DAC is a clear and significant improvement over DS-1. This is obvious even without break-in time. To say it simply, the sound is more accurate and more real!
Yes — definitely more analog sounding in the direction of a good vinyl record in terms of greater realism, more texture and greater density to the music.
Soundstage is huge with a lot of depth and dimensionality. Definitely a bigger more layered soundstage than DS-1.
The player is highly detailed but in a natural way. In fact it is pulling information from familiar CDs I didn’t hear before or that I now hear more clearly than before.
The imaging is also superb — razor sharp and sounds on stage are located with great precision. You get the sense you are hearing everything in exactly the same way as the original performance.
Accuracy is simply way better than before. Cymbals and piano just sound so much more real and voices are more human / less synthetic.
Not just bigger soundstage, more details, etc. — which it definitely has — but a fundamentally different ( more real ) presentation.
I didn’t expect such a big improvement over DS-1 but there clearly is. | A.K.

È proprio vero che spesso è il dettaglio che fa la differenza e che fa sì che si creino le giuste sinergie in una catena d’ascolto.
Io come tanti credo di avere sperimentato nel corso del tempo una quantità incredibile di combinazione e di elettroniche più o meno valide. Per certi versi potrei dire di aver sbattuto via un sacco di tempo e di denaro in questa fase di ricerca, ma in realtà sono state esperienze utili per la mia crescita personale.
Credo che il giro di boa per me sia avvenuto quando piano piano l’interesse dell’ascolto si è spostato progressivamente dall’impianto alla musica. E a tal proposito potrei direi che i prodotti Norma siano stati per me decisamente utili nell’aiutarmi nella messa a fuoco di questo mio nuovo obiettivo| R.Z.

So I’ve found with my system that I’ve had a wall that has been difficult to break through. The introduction of the DAC-2 has broken through that wall!
Kudos to you guys for doing a heck of a job on this new DAC technology. It is sublime. | D.S.
